Project Overview

In September 2022, Crown Healthcare successfully installed a Dental OPG system at Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi. The equipment offers panoramic imaging of the entire dentition, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and sinus structures, supporting a wide range of dental, orthodontic, and oral surgery applications. This investment addressed the hospital’s growing need for high-quality, in-house dental imaging with reliable turnaround times.

Rationale for Investment

  • Expanded Dental Services: The hospital’s dental and maxillofacial departments were experiencing increased patient volumes, including complex surgical referrals.

  • Imaging Modernization: Previously outsourced or limited OPG imaging created bottlenecks in treatment planning and extended patient timelines.

  • Clinical Accuracy: A dedicated OPG system enhances diagnostic confidence in orthodontics, implantology, pathology detection, and trauma evaluation.
